Final Recommendation Statement: Folic Acid Supplementation for the Prevention of Neural Tube Defects
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force released today a final recommendation statement on folic acid supplementation for the prevention of neural tube defects. The Task Force reaffirms that all women planning or capable of pregnancy take a daily supplement of folic acid to reduce the risk of neural tube defects in developing babies.
