U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Announces Appointment of Two New Members

January 14, 2020 — The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (Task Force) announced today the addition of two new members Katrina Donahue, M.D., M.P.H., and Gbenga Ogedegbe, M.D., M.P.H. Both were appointed to serve 4-year terms beginning in January 2020.

Dr. Donahue is a professor and vice chair of research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Family Medicine. She is a family physician and senior research fellow at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research. She is also the co-director of the North Carolina Network Consortium, a meta-network of six practice-based research networks and four academic institutions in North Carolina. Dr. Donahue’s research areas of interest include practice redesign of health care delivery, chronic disease care and prevention, health behavior change, and collaborations among public health and primary care.

Dr. Ogedegbe is the Dr. Adolph and Margaret Berger professor of medicine and population health and the director of the Center for Healthful Behavior Change and the Division of Health and Behavior in the Department of Population Health at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He is also co-director of the Hypertension Specialty Clinic at Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Ogedegbe is a leading expert on health disparities research. His research focuses on implementation and translation of evidence-based interventions into primary care practices and community settings for management of hypertension and cardiovascular risk reduction in minority populations.
