The USPSTF recognizes the impact that injuries have on children and adults. However, based on the limited evidence on counseling in clinical settings, the USPSTF believes a recommendation would have limited impact. The USPSTF will not update its 1996 recommendation as it is currently formatted. The USPTF will update its recommendation on falls in the elderly and this review is currently in process.

Note: This recommendation is being partially updated as Falls Prevention in Community-Dwelling Older Adults.
