Modeling Report: Radiation-Induced Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Death From Mammography Screening (Abstract)

Breast Cancer: Screening

April 20, 2015

Recommendations made by the USPSTF are independent of the U.S. government. They should not be construed as an official position of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

In addition to the systematic reviews of the evidence, the USPSTF commissioned a decision analysis to estimate the number of radiation-induced breast cancer cases and deaths associated with different screening mammography strategies over the course of a woman’s lifetime.
